Library

Welcome to the USJM Library, a cornerstone of academic excellence located on the Nyamintanga Campus of USJM. With a collection of over 7,500 books, our library is committed to supporting the research, learning, and teaching needs of students and faculty across all disciplines. We offer access to e-books through Library usj.ac.ug, EBSCOhost, Emerald, Taylor and Francis, and Research for Life, our extensive physical collection, combined with access to research assistance, ensures that our users have the resources they need for their academic pursuits.

Library Rules and Regulations

To maintain an environment conducive to study, we ask all members to observe the following rules:

  • Present your library or identity card when entering the library.
  • Personal belongings, including personal books, should be left outside the library.
  • Silence must be maintained at all times within and around the library.
  • Handle books, journals, and equipment with care; fines will be imposed for any damage
  • Books must be returned before holidays, and late returns will incur fines.
  • Food, drinks, and phone calls are strictly prohibited inside the library.
  • The library’s internet access is strictly for educational purposes. Activities such as watching movies or using YouTube are not allowed. Viewing any form of pornography is strictly forbidden
  • Users should not reshelve books; instead, leave them on the tables for library staff to handle

The librarian reserves the right to suspend membership for any violation of these rules, and disciplinary action will be taken against members caught engaging in prohibited activities, such as tearing or stealing books.

Library Services

Our library offers a range of study areas, including individual study spaces designed to accommodate various learning preferences. For those requiring additional help with their research, we provide one-on-one consultations with our skilled staff. Our librarians, who hold Master's, Degree, and Diploma qualifications, are always available to provide guidance and support.
