Chancellor

The Chancellor is the ceremonial head of the University and a key ambassador for USJM's mission and values. The Chancellor's role includes championing academic excellence, fostering partnerships, and representing the university in national and international fora.

Profile

The Most Reverend Lambert Bainomugisha (born July 12, 1961) is a Ugandan prelate of the Roman Catholic Church who currently serves as the Archbishop of Mbarara. Appointed by Pope Francis on April 25, 2020, he was formally installed on June 20, 2020, succeeding Archbishop Paul Kamuza Bakyenga.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance on strategic priorities.
• Represent USJM at ceremonial and stakeholder events.
• Support fundraising, partnerships and community engagement.
